Mackie HR624mk2 6 Powered Studio Monitor Pair - Piano Black THX certified. I bought this pair in 2014 and this year decided to bump up to the next price range of monitors. If I didn't want to upgrade, I would probably keep these forever. They are far more accurate than Yamaha's or Adams, and the passive radiator makes the bass less likely to need fixing numerous times. After using a room correction software on these, they got even more accurate.

The bass is tight and the highs are clean. Very neutral, of course that also depends on your room treatment.

I enjoyed the hell out of these things, and would keep them if I actually ran a real recording studio and not just a "bedroom one". Also, they could make decent music playing speakers if that's all you need them for, considering the built in bi-amping, they push sound pretty loud for their size. And the fit and finish is neat enough too. I'm also including some auralex speaker base pads for placing the monitors on to reduce vibration.
